Our God is the source of everything. Meaning, all that you have including your life, your possessions, your education, and work are all provided by the Lord. Our God doesn’t need our money, but why do we have to give back to God from all the things He provided for us? The reason we give back to God is to show to the people around us that through our gifts the love of God can become evident reality in our world. Our giving is a reminder of God’s blessings, especially when He gave His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
In Genesis 8:22 states, “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease (NIV).” God is clearly saying that day and night is the separation of time. This repetition of time in everyday living will remain as long as the earth exist. Meaning, there is a time for working, and there is also a time for resting. With this time, there are things that are necessary and vital to our daily lives such as eating, drinking water etc. It is very interesting to note the first part of this verse for it is about sowing and reaping. Indeed, giving and receiving is one of the most powerful influences in the earth.
In Malachi 1:10 states, “Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will accept no offering from your hands (NIV). Our giving allows God to “Act” on our behalf. God has the windows of heaven, and He will locked it to keep the thieves and the robbers out; just like we do in our own houses. The Word of God states in Malachi 3:8, “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings (NIV). Let us read the passage carefully in Malachi 3:10, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it (NIV).” Giving your tithes and offerings requires God to “open the windows of heaven” over your life. If you do not give your tithes and offerings to the Lord, the windows of heaven are Close. On the other hand, if you give, the Lord will “open the windows of heaven.” Which one you would rather have: open windows or close windows? It is your choice.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.Malachi 3:10, NIV
The action of giving is the most important spiritual practices that a believer of Jesus can uphold and maintain. Giving our tithes and offerings to the Lord is an “Act of Worship.” The word “Tithes” literally means 10% of our income. Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything, and it teaches us to put Him first in our lives. God demanded honor in tithes and offerings under the old covenant, and still “Reinforced” the order in the New Testament. Giving our tithes and offerings is important to God.

In giving your offerings, it does not matter if it is big or small. What matters most is to listen to the voice of the Lord, and obey Him. If God is not involved in your giving then it is not well pleasing to Him. God will not accept it. Your church or the ministry might accept your offering, but God will not accept it as a sweet aroma at His sight.
We worship God through our giving. The order of worshiping God by giving is beautifully laid out in Psalms 116. In verse 12 of Psalm 116 states, What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me (NIV)? We cannot repay Him anything. In fact, the Lord has nothing “For Sale.” It is all a gift. In other words, He gave all to us for free. We have to Praise God for all these benefits, because we can never repay the Lord for His Blessings in our lives. Our Heavenly Father blesses us so, “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God (2 Corinthians 9:11-12, NIV).” We please God by our Giving. The Lord is the only one you ever need to be concerned about pleasing, because you will find contentment in Life.
Our giving frustrate and stop the enemy’s plan. When our offerings is led by the Holy Spirit it really kicks-off the devil. We have to understand that the devil hates when you plant (give). The enemy wants you to think that sowing is something that works for some people, but not with you. Satan wants you to believe that you will never receive a harvest. If he can get you to doubt, he can keep you from receiving a harvest (blessings). However, when you give, God likes to draw His attention to you, especially when your giving. Ultimately, everything comes from God. Therefore, everything belongs to God. As Christians, we should practice of giving back to God. To God Be The Glory!
