One of the biggest problem that our generation facing today is insecurity which generated fear and panic. Many people find it difficult to sleep at night. For this reason others seek protection from spiritualist and some seek help from occult people who practices evil magic, witchcraft, or sorcery. There are people looking for help from crystal ball reader or from a tarot reader. The reason for this is many wants to know what lies ahead in their lives. They want to know their future spouse and so on. These people think that they found their answer or help, but they were trick by these swindlers who took advantaged with them whereas the children of God who knows His Mighty power will seek Him for their protection.
In this study, we shall be looking at God’s Provision for our freedom from fear, deliverance from harm and danger. What do we understand about “Divine Protection?” The word Divine relates to or coming from the supernatural powers of God. Speaking of natural powers; God has Glorious, delightful, excellent, spiritual, wonderful power. The meaning of Protection, refers to the act of being Protected and safeguard from injury or harm. Therefore, Divine protection means the act of being protected and safeguard by the supernatural power of the Almighty God.
Some measures always put in place by a man to ensure protection could be physical or spiritual. These could be form of Gadgets such as guns, swords, baseball bat and so much more. Many people believe that without these Backups for their protection their lives are in danger, so, they seek such powers outside BUT only the Almighty God can Give. The Bible says in Psalms 127:1b “…Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain (ESV). A true believer is not expected to seek help or any protection outside God or put his confidence in other things. Our attitude should be to have confidence in God’s ability. The Lord has the ability to save and deliver us because all creation are subject to the creator. Meaning, we are dependent to God and subordinate of God.
In Psalms 91:1-2 states, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust (ESV).” The secret place of the most high is a place where God’s presence is. Meaning, it is His sanctuary. In Psalms 91:4 says, “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler (ESV).” Companionship with God will be a safe refuge from satan’s power and from all dangers of the way. There’s no need to fear for those under the supernatural power of God. Trust God only for His ability to keep safe all those who come to Him.
“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.“2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
It is the presence of sin and ignorance of God’s word in one’s life that will create fear. So, Believers should put on the whole armor of God, consistently study His Words, and believe in our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 6:11-18). God has from the beginning put in place divine protective measures to ensure that His children are protected from Satan’s destructive hands. In the first place we have to remember that “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him…(ESV).” In addition, the name of Jesus and His Blood help us to overcome the wicked one. God offers protection against physical and spiritual attack at all times in all situations for His children. God is omnipotent, and has all the powers to destroy the works of the enemy in the lives of all that trust and obey Him. Let us therefore, Trust in God’s Power. To God Be The Glory!
